VerovaShieldHow we collect, use and protect your personal information.
Verova Group Ltd ("we", "us", "our") operates VerovaShield. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you visit our website or use the VerovaShield app.
We may collect personal information including your name, email address, phone number, and device information. Where you use the app to check a message, number or website, we process the content you submit in order to provide that check.
We use your information to provide and improve the VerovaShield service, including scam and phishing detection, number verification, website checks and call blocking, and to communicate with you about your account.
Where you choose to report a suspicious number or message through VerovaShield Community, this may be used, in an anonymised or aggregated form, to help protect other users. We do not share your personal contact details with other users as part of this feature.
Company, website and number searches may be stored by VerovaShield so previously verified information can be reused, checked and improved. This helps reduce unnecessary repeated online searches and supports the development of VerovaShield’s verified safety database.
If you use VerovaConnect’s letter service, the details you give us for your letter or case — your name, address and the facts of your case — go straight into your document on our own servers. They are never sent to any outside company or AI service. Where an account number is involved, we store only the last four digits.
Please do not submit passwords, PINs, one-time security codes, full payment-card information or complete online-banking credentials through the app.
If you buy a VerovaShield plan on our website, your payment is handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Limited and Stripe, Inc.), a secure payment provider. You enter your card details directly with Stripe. We never see or store your full card number or security code.
Stripe shares a limited amount of information with us so that we can set up and manage your plan. This includes your name, email address, the plan you chose, whether your payment was successful, and, where Stripe provides them, the last four digits and expiry date of your card. Stripe uses your payment information in line with its own privacy policy, which you can read at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
When you create an account or sign in, we may send a verification code to your mobile number by text message to confirm that the number belongs to you. To do this, we share your mobile number with an SMS provider whose only role is to deliver that message.
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. We may share information with service providers who help us run VerovaShield, or with third parties where required by law or for the prevention of fraud.
The service providers we use include Stripe, which processes payments for plans bought on our website, and an SMS provider, which delivers verification codes to your mobile number. If you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, your payment is handled by Apple or Google under their own terms and privacy policies.
If you allow advertising measurement in the app, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google (Google Analytics for Firebase) also receive the limited information described in the section on advertising measurement below.
We advertise VerovaShield on services such as Facebook, Instagram and Google. To find out whether our adverts work, the app can tell Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google (Google Analytics for Firebase) when the app is installed and opened, when an account is created, and when a free trial or subscription starts. This is sent together with basic device information and your device's advertising identifier, where your device settings allow it, so that an install can be matched to the advert that led to it.
This only happens if you allow it when the app asks, and on an iPhone it also requires Apple's tracking permission. We never send your messages, phone numbers, searches, account contact details or VerovaConnect case information to Meta or Google. You can turn advertising measurement off at any time in the app's Settings under Advertising preferences, and declining does not affect any part of VerovaShield. Meta processes information under its privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/ and Google under https://policies.google.com/privacy.
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the service and to meet our legal obligations.
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to restrict or object to certain processing. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
